Maxine’s Whistler Wedding Hair and Makeup

My early career as a makeup artist often felt like a rotating door of faces. Clients, models or actors would sit down in my chair, we would have a pleasant conversation while I styled their hair or makeup and then they would leave 45 minutes later.

It was not until I decided to intentionally focus on bridal hair and makeup when that feeling started fading into the distance. Working with brides has given me the opportunity to form deeper and more trusting relationships with my clients and it has been so fun and rewarding.

When Maxine came to Squamish for her wedding hair and makeup trial, there was an instant connection between us. We started nerding out about baking, cooking, sharing recipes and our favourite techniques in the kitchen. We laughed and shared stories for almost 3 hours.

On Maxines wedding day in Whistler at the Four Seasons Residence, she handed me a gift bag, and insisted I opened it right away. It was a cookbook! It was truly one of the most thoughtful gifts I have received from a client and made me feel so grateful that I got to meet and work with Maxine.

Wedding Makeup Look

For Maxine’s Wedding Hair and Makeup look, she really wanted to look like herself, but enhanced. All of the inspiration photos she shared with me were soft, glowing, with beautiful skin, highlights and subtle pink and brown accents. The products I used for Maxine’s makeup look are:

*I did want to note that it was 30+ degrees in the Sea to Sky on the day of Maxine’s trial and she told me that her makeup looked even better hours later. She loved the way everything felt on her skin and settled after the trial. This made me confident that her mid summer Whistler wedding would hold up in a similar way.

Wedding Hairstyle

For Maxine’s Wedding Hair we added extensions throughout, curled with a 1 inch barrel and twisted it back into a beautiful soft blue bow. It was absolutely stunning!
