Hey, I’m Jacqueline

Makeup artistry has long been a passion of mine. In the early stages of my makeup career, I worked in film and thought I wanted to build prosthetics, but I learned that didn’t love the film lifestyle and found an internship with a fashion beauty agency in Brooklyn, New York.

While living in Brooklyn, I developed a love for natural beauty products during the early days of the “Clean Beauty” movement. I became totally obsessed with natural products, eating vegetarian and pretty much anything that screamed “wellness”. I began my research on the presence of toxic chemicals, excessive waste, and unethical practices within the cosmetics industry. I used my passion for beauty to try to make a difference by utilize my makeup skills not only to enhance someone's appearance and well-being but also to do so in the most ethical manner imaginable.

Fast forward, 10 years and I now have a more balanced approach when it comes to ingredients in beauty products. Instead of focusing on purely natural, I aim to disrupt the conventional norms of the beauty industry. I offer people the information to instigate positive changes for themselves, the environment, and their loved ones through learning about what they are using on their skin every single day and presenting a more realistic version of beauty.

For as long as I can remember,

I have loved plants.

I was raised in a household with a beautiful garden, and some of my earliest memories involved the joy of running around and exploring the oasis I called home. Weekends were filled with family adventures to scenic spots like Lynn Canyon and Grouse Mountain, as well as trips to tulip festivals, pumpkin patches, and bustling farmers' markets.

Over the past decade, my life and career has been woven into the beauty industry, and to be candid, the industry can be a rather unattractive. Three years into my career, I made a conscious decision to veer away from conventional beauty and immerse myself in the world of "green beauty." While not a pioneer, I forged my own path and have since built a successful career for myself.

When the COVID-19 pandemic unfolded in 2020, I made a decision to elevate my passion for plants and plant medicine. I enrolled in the Pacific Rim College Community Herbalism Program. As a recent graduate of the program, I am thrilled to share this transformative journey with you. Thank you for joining me on this path

You can find me in Squamish working with Sḵwálwen Botanicals, an Indigenous skincare line that honours Skwxwú7mesh (Squamish) plant knowledge and ancestral traditions by using sustainably harvested and sourced organic plants to balance, renew, repair, strengthen, hydrate and protect the skin.

Away from the makeup chair…

I’ll be honest—I’m not your typical “beauty girlie.” While I love what I do, my world extends far beyond brushes and blush. When I’m not working with clients, you’ll find me painting, mountain biking, DJing, or digging in the garden. I’m passionate about plants, community herbalism, and personal growth—and I’m always up for a good adventure.

I spend my days off traveling, gravel biking, camping, and cooking delicious meals to share. Most importantly, I share life with my two loyal sidekicks, Poppi and Tsuga (the real stars of the show).
